Water Exploration and Adaptive Swim

The Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut (MLSECT) in partnership with the Valley Shore YMCA, Westbrook, Connecticut is excited to announce our Water Exploration and Adaptive Swim program for Children ages 5-12 who have intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities, The program will run on Saturday afternoons from 2:00-2:45 PM for eight consecutive weeks starting May 11 and concluding on June 29. All classes will be held at the Valley Shore YMCA, 201 Spencer Plains Road, Westbrook, CT 06498. The aquatics center is the perfect place for (MLSECT) families and will ensure that their children are safe in and around the water.

Registration will begin 9:00 AM on Friday, April 26th and will be limited to the first eight registered swimmers. The free for the eight week program will be $140.00.

No prior swimming experience is required to enroll. Each swimmer must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated helper who is comfortable in the water, to ensure maximum safety and so that the helpers can learn strategies along with the swimmers. All swimmers are required to possess bladder and bowel control. Swim diapers are not permitted.

All classes will be led by an AngelFish Certified Instructor, Karen Davella and Certified Lifeguards of the Valley Shore YMCA participant to Instructor ratios are 1 Instructor for 4 students.
