Central Connecticut State University Adjunct Marketing Professor Launches Free Brand Education Series to Help Small Businesses Stand Out in an Uncertain Economy

Dream in Color Marketing founder Kristyn Neal offers free June webinars and a July bootcamp to help service-based business owners build trust, attract ideal clients, and market with greater confidence.

WATERFORD, Conn. — As economic uncertainty continues to challenge small businesses, many owners are looking for ways to strengthen customer relationships, attract new clients, and make their marketing dollars work harder.

According to Kristyn Neal, founder of Dream in Color Marketing and an adjunct marketing professor at Central Connecticut State University, one of the most overlooked opportunities is brand clarity.

To help business owners navigate a competitive marketplace, Neal is launching a series of three free virtual brand webinars in June, followed by the inaugural Brand Blueprint Bootcamp, a two-day in-person workshop in East Lyme designed to help entrepreneurs strengthen their brands, clarify their messaging, and attract better-fit clients.

"During uncertain economic times, buyers become more selective about where they spend their money," Neal said. "A clear, trustworthy brand helps business owners stand out, build confidence with potential clients, and create stronger connections with the people they are best positioned to serve."

Neal's perspective is rooted in years of experience working across corporations, nonprofits, and growing businesses. Throughout her career, she observed that while large organizations often have access to marketing teams, strategic resources, and specialized expertise, many small business owners are left trying to navigate branding and marketing on their own.

"What I found is that most business owners aren't lacking talent, passion, or expertise," Neal said. "What they're often missing is clarity, support, and a framework they can use to make better marketing decisions."

The focus on trust comes at a critical time for small businesses. Research from the 2024 Edelman Trust Barometer found that consumers who trust a brand are significantly more likely to purchase from it, remain loyal, and recommend it to others. As competition increases and buyers become more cautious with spending decisions, building a clear and trustworthy brand can become a meaningful business advantage.

Free Brand Talk Webinar Series

Neal's complimentary virtual webinar, "Attract Your Ideal Clients: How to Build a Clear Brand That Sets You Apart," will be offered on three separate dates:

  • Sunday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m.

  • Tuesday, June 17 at 12:00 p.m.

Each 40-minute session is designed for small and medium-sized service-based business owners who want to better understand why their marketing may not be generating the results they want and how a stronger brand foundation can help.

Participants will learn:

  • The three biggest branding mistakes small and medium-sized business owners make

  • Why unclear messaging can prevent ideal clients from choosing their business

  • How to create greater clarity around their audience and positioning

  • What makes a brand easier to trust and understand

  • Practical steps they can implement immediately to strengthen their marketing

Many business owners assume branding is primarily about logos, colors, and visuals. Neal teaches that brand clarity, understanding who you serve, what you stand for, and how to communicate your value, is often the foundation that drives marketing success.

Brand Blueprint Bootcamp: July 25–26 in East Lyme

For business owners seeking deeper implementation and hands-on support, Neal will host the first-ever Brand Blueprint Bootcamp on July 25–26 in East Lyme, Connecticut.

Limited to just 15 participants, the two-day experience is designed to help service-based business owners move beyond marketing tactics and build a stronger brand foundation.

Attendees will leave with:

  • Greater clarity around who they serve and how they stand apart

  • Stronger alignment with their ideal clients

  • Refined messaging that clearly communicates their value

  • A customized Brand Blueprint to guide future marketing decisions

  • Guided implementation time, live coaching, and direct feedback

"If your marketing feels scattered, inconsistent, or harder than it should, the issue may not be your content," Neal said. "Often, it's the brand foundation underneath it. When business owners gain clarity about who they serve and how they create value, marketing becomes more focused, intentional, and effective."

The Brand Blueprint Bootcamp will be held in East Lyme, Connecticut, on July 25–26. Registration is $497, with a value of $995.
