Duck River Garden Club Celebrates National Garden Week with a Full Week of Community Events
Old Lyme, CT – May 29, 2025 — The Duck River Garden Club invites the community to join in a weeklong celebration of National Garden Week, June 1–7, 2025. The Club has organized a series of events in the towns it serves that highlight the joy of gardening, community service, and environmental appreciation.

Birdhouse Dedication at the Old Lyme Historical Society

Celebrate the installation of a newly donated birdhouse honoring local nature and community spirit. - Monday, June 2 – 7:00 PM
Flower Arrangement Installation & Nature Book Donation at the East Lyme Library
39 Society Road, Niantic
Enjoy a fresh floral display and nature book donation that encourages beauty and learning. - Tuesday, June 3 – 1:00 PM
Beginner Bonsai Demonstration by Mark Comstock, owner of Hydrangeas Galore, at the Lyme-Old Lyme Senior Center
26 Town Woods Road, Old Lyme
Explore the ancient art and philosophy of bonsai in this relaxing, hands-on demonstration tailored for seniors. Contact the Lymes Senior Center to register. - Wednesday, June 4 – 4:00 PM
Dedication of the New Miracle League Garden Site

Mini Flower Arrangement Workshop at the Lyme-Old Lyme Senior Center

Duck River Garden Club Outreach Day

Children’s Garden Activity at the Lyme Art Association

A fun, hands-on activity for kids to learn about gardening and nature in a creative setting.
Founded in 1970, the Duck River Garden Club of Old Lyme (DRGC) promotes interest in gardening, floral design, and environmental education while supporting civic beautification projects throughout the region. The Club began serving the town of East Lyme/Niantic in 2024 and aims to expand both membership and service over the next few years. DRGC is a proud member of The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
