Astra Studio of Dance & Performing Arts has been serving dancers and families across the Connecticut Shoreline since 2016. Located in Old Saybrook, Astra provides high-quality dance training in a welcoming, supportive environment where dancers can grow in confidence, develop strong technique, build lasting connections, and discover their own place to shine.

Astra offers dance classes for ages 2.5 through adult, with programs designed for every stage of training. Classes include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, musical theatre, and more. From our youngest Astra Little Stars and developing dancers to advanced students and our competitive Dance Company, there is a place for every dancer to learn, grow, and belong.

Performance is an important part of the Astra experience. Throughout the year, dancers have opportunities to take the stage in our Winter Holiday Showcase, annual Spring Recital, dance competitions, and community events throughout the Connecticut Shoreline.

Astra is proud to be the home of the 2026 Turn It Up National Grand Champion Production, “Hocus Pocus,” as well as regional and national champions, award-winning choreography, and dancers recognized for artistry, performance, and sportsmanship.

At Astra, dance training is about more than what happens on stage. We believe the lessons dancers learn through the arts reach far beyond the studio. We’re honored to be part of that journey for every child, every family, and every star.
