Senior Human Resources Manager

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Human Resources Manager to join the Vista team. This role combines senior-level generalist expertise with leadership responsibility for employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and talent development.

Reporting directly to the VP of Business Operations and Administrative Services, this full-time position is based at our Madison, CT campus.
 
Responsibilities for a Senior Human Resources Manager include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as a trusted resource to leaders and employees, providing clear guidance and timely support.
• Lead or oversee complex employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, performance improvement, corrective action, and separations.
• Coach leaders on effective feedback, documentation, progressive discipline, and respectful communication.
• Manage leave and accommodation processes (FMLA, relevant state programs, ADA accommodations) with accurate tracking and documentation.
• Oversee or coordinate benefits and compensation administration to ensure accurate changes, clear communication, and timely completion of annual cycles.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and translate requirements into day-to-day practice.
• Lead, coach, and develop the HR team to increase capability, confidence, and accountability.

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience with a strong, hands-on generalist background and 2–4 years leading or supervising an HR team 

• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law compliance and HR best practices
• Demonstrated analytical skills, including comfort working with metrics, AI, and compensation related analysis
• Valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record as defined by Vista.
