13th Annual Fire House Food Drive
?Please help local firefighters collect donations of non-perishable food for the 13th Annual Fire House Food Drive to benefit The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries (SSKP) Saturday, April 12th, 9am-1pm Old Saybrook Fire Dept.; Essex VFD; Westbrook VFD; Chester VFD; Clinton VFD; Deep River VFD; and North Madison VFD Robert's Food Center in North Madison; Stop & Shop in Old Saybrook and Clintion; Big Y in Old Saybrook and Clinton; and Walmart in Old Saybrook. Non-perishable food donations can be brought to Mirsina's Restaurant in Old Saybrook; the Parthenon Diner in Old Saybrook; Sal's Pizza & Pasta in Old Saybrook; Scotch Plains Tavern in Essex as well as the Essex Savings Bank in Old Saybrook and Little Pub in Old Saybrook. Please note that all these additional locations are accepting non-perishable food donations during their regular business hours through Saturday, April 12th. The most needed items: Canned beans/vegetables/fruit, peanut butter & jelly; canned tuna, pasta & pasta sauce, white rice, canned soup; and breakfast cereals. The Businesses of Main Street, Old Saybrook Host Their 2nd Annual Bunny Hop Purchase a $5 basket and stop by each participating business for a special treat to fill it! Only 150 baskets. Available April 12-19 at Cottage Flair and Maximus. Hop on down to Main Street on Saturday, April 19th from 11-4 to fill up your basket. Who will get the Golden Egg? One will be located in each business. Don't miss the Bunny hopping on Main Street!
