Lifetime Achievement Award Barbara Maynard
For a long list of outstanding achievements in preserving historic resources, the Old Saybrook Historical Society is honoring former First Selectman Barbara J. Maynard with its award for Lifetime in Achievement Historic Achievement. Members and friends are invited to a presentation at Saybrook Fort Monument Park on Friday July 12 at 4:00pm.
To commemorate the event, the Society has planted an elm tree in Barbara's honor and placed a park bench nearby. A brief ceremony will be held to mark the occasion. Old Saybrook Historical Society President, Marie McFarlin will welcome guests and brief comments will be made by First Selectman Carl Fortuna, State Representative Devin Carney and others. The public is invited. In the event of rain, the ceremonies will be moved to the Vicki Duffy Pavilion.
