Expressive Flowers in Watercolor Workshop with Lisa Miceli

In this one day workshop with Lisa Miceli at the Lyme Art Association, students will focus on conveying the unique beauty of flowers through loose, expressive approaches in paint application.  Students will learn to simplify the elements of flowers and create the transparency of flower petals using wet into wet watercolor approaches with an emphasis on color and values. Students can experiment with drawing flower forms with a brush, a pencil or inks, and washes can be applied over wet or dry ink to create interesting effects.

We will work from photos, still life, and from imagination to explore different ways to convey the color and beauty of flowers.
