Controller
We are seeking a Controller to join the Vista team in leading day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, regulatory, funding compliance, and audit functions linked to the organization.
This Full-Time position, eligible for benefits and paid time off (PTO), is based at our Madison, CT campus.
Responsibilities for a Controller include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, nonprofit accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that internal controls and safeguards are in place for monitoring and managing revenues, expenses and capital expenditures.
- Oversee the organization’s cash balances and cash flow forecasting.
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes.
- Provide direct supervision of Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other personnel as assigned.
Essential Requirements for a Controller include, but are not limited to:
- Valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record
- Knowledge and skills in MS Office, accounting software and payroll systems
- Working knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit and fund accounting
- Experience working with government funding agencies is advantageous
