Edible Plant and Wild Fungi Foraging Series

Join The Rockfall Foundation and The 3 Foragers for two hands-on opportunities to learn about the plants and fungi of fall: Thursday, October 1 | 6–7 PM Autumn Foraging Classroom Seminar Learn to identify seasonal plants, nuts, roots, fruits, and fungi, explore sustainable harvesting practices, and get tips for preparing wild foods. The 3 Foragers will share original photos, recipes, and their favorite fall finds, including acorns, wintergreen, honey mushrooms, and maitake. Saturday, October 3 | 10 AM–12 PM Edible Plant & Fungi Foraging Walk Head into the woods at Pattaconk Reservoir to explore the fungal world firsthand. Learn how to safely examine and identify mushrooms using sight, smell, taste, and other tools, while discovering the important relationships between fungi and the natural world.
