DESCRIPTION:Join us for a wonderful evening of storytelling\, sharing two stories about Connecticut heroes in the fight for Independence. \n\nStoryteller Monica Peterson presents "Our Founding Mothers"   historical accounts of local women whose bravery helped found this country.\n\nUsing story\, costume\, and photographs\, Monica transports audiences back in time to hear about:\n\n"Sybil Ludington" - an account of the burning of Danbury during the Revolutionary War and how a teenage girl's midnight ride to warn the countryside that the British were coming to attack resulted in an American victory at Ridgefield\, Connecticut.\n\n"An Army of Two" - two young sisters save their New England town from the British Navy during the War of 1812.\n\nThis event was made possible by Friends of Acton Library.
